Little activity that uses quite a few tools! Would be useful if students had some knowledge but not a requirement! It may be worth showing them the pen tool/pointing them to my YouTube channel if they find the sheet tricky! Includes supporting presentation with a starter actitivity (creating one quickly in Paint), quick explanation of bitmap and vector and then a preview of what they will make. Students could use them whilst practising for their coursework units as well as it reminds them of what to think about for some of the criteria. Two-sided sheet with content to aid the revision of knowledge useful for Creative iMedia R094, the digital graphics unit of WJEC Vocational IT and Key Stage 3 graphics units.

After completing visual identity practice I then move onto teaching students how to prepare images that they download off the web so they are suitable for a ‘main graphic’. On the stages we work through setting up folders to keep them organised, download and store the images; change the resolution, take screenshots to evidence the steps taken; save the image for use later. You will need to think of a practice idea as I use this sheet alongside a themed set of lessons preparing students for R094. Note: Repurposing is mentioned though does not have detail about this as I have another dedicated resource for this.

First in a series of lessons that aim to teach KS3/4 students how to develop a website using RocketCake 5. Completely reworked from my RocketCake 4 KS4 lessons - students now learn by creating a website with you, starting with a master page to promote consistency. A good tool to help students in Creative iMedia R097 if their brief can be solved with a website as no coding is required. Lesson includes teacher PowerPoint with videos guiding the process (and an all-new voice!); client brief (PDF); separate videos (MP4) for students to play on their own; student checklist; assets to help build the page quickly e.g. logo, text; teacher solution to tasks.
